The band started this year with 24 members and later the number increased to 28. The band made its first public appearance on November 1, 1946, when the Senior Play was presented. The Mass Band held at Delhi on November 16, 1946, included eleven members from our band.
Between the halves of home basketball games the band, under the instruction of Mr. Cross and led by the baton twirlers, presented an excellent program of lively marches, formed the letters SK and those of visiting schools, and led the spectators in the singing of the SK alma mater song, as well as the alma mater of the opposing schools.
On May 9, 1946, 15 soloists competed for ratings at Oneonta. On May 10, 1946, the entire band competed for the New York State School Music Association at Oneonta. The Sixth Annual Concert was held on May 16, 1946, with Mrs. Robert O. Wimple of Gloversville, N. Y., as guest soloist. On May 17, 1946, the band made its final appearance of the season at a festival held in Delhi.
