put on a play entitled "Kicked Out of College." The success of the play was due quite largely to the efforts of Miss Elizabeth Ward, the Preceptress. the Auditorium was crowded, and the sentiment seemed to be that it was one of the best acted plays ever given by our High School.
Our basket ball season was eminently successful. We lost only one game and that was to Delaware Academy, the Champions of Delaware County. The Hobart High School team won the Championship of Eastern Delaware County. Our fine basketball court, one of the best in the county, si in almost constant use during the winter and is very much enjoyed by all the grades as well as the High School. We had a very successful girls basket ball team this year.
In base ball we did not have a very strong team on account of the fact that we had to break in many new players and also on account of the sickness of some of our best players. However, we hope to have a stronger team next year.
The Athletic Association was successfully maintained during the year by the loyal co-operation of the scholars and the enthusiastic support of the citizens of the village. The various athletic teams were financed during the year and there is a good balance on hand of about $153 to help the teams next year and to give assistance in installing shower baths in the basement where a large space has been excavated by the boys for that prupose. This will add materially to the spirit of our future athletic teams, who will represent Hobart High School on court and diamond.
The Senior Class has been successful financially. It has turned over to the curtain fund over $90, which completed the payment on the beautiful plush curtain which has been installed. The curtain cost $350 plus the transportation charges and cost of installation.
