School Calendar
Sept. 8--School opened.
Sept. 9--Miss Davis told Seniors that there were exactly 183 more days until Regents and for us to "get to work and stop fooling around."
Sept. 26--School Fair.
Oct. 11--Senior Bake Sale in Hobart.
Oct. 12--Doctor's kept busy ... some strange sickness in Hobart.
Oct. 18--Ed. Nichols, accompanied by George Robertson, left for the National FFA Convention at Kansas City.
Oct. 19--West Point Trip. Six Seniors got "too good" for the bus. They went down in Paul's car.
Oct. 25--Senior Bake Sale in So. Kortright
Oct. 26--That "strange sickness" struck S. Kortright.
Oct. 31--FAA Black Cat Ball.
Nov. 7--Senior Play ... "The Mad Hatters." Wonderful turnout.
Nov. 8--Senior Bake Sale in Bloomville. We didn't sell much. News must be getting around.
Nov. 10-Armistice Day Holiday
Nov. 21-Senior Play Cast traveled to Delhi to see Senior Play at Delaware Academy.
Dec. 13-Another Senior Bake Sale in Bloomville.
Dec. 14--Girls baking must be improving. Everyone well!
Dec. 18--Pepper stayed up until 4 o'clock writing his Social Studies essay.
Dec. 19--Miss Davis had shock ... Pep handed in his essay on time. School out for vacation. Following Delhi game Seniors had first dance.
Dec. 23--Sno-Ball ... The SKCS alumni's first dance gets cold reception.
Jan. 5--Back to the old grind. Miss Davis still hasn't recovered from the shock of Pepper's essay.
Jan. 16--We beat Stamford; Senior Dance after game to celebrate.
Jan. 19-23--Everybody studied for a change.
Jan. 26-29--Regents Week.
Feb. 1--Mr. Redmond, cadet teacher, came for a 10-week stay.
Feb. 2--Girls all "spruced up" ... Wonder why?
Feb. 10--Twins came to school dressed differently, just to please Scoop. Scoop absent.
Feb. 20--Senior Dance following Margaretville Game.
Feb. 23--Washington's Birthday.
March 5--Miss Davis came to school in socks; Miss Russ got called "Ellen" by a pupil Mr. Redmond was sent to the office. what's wrong? Nothing, just Student Day!
March 19--St. Patrick's Dance. Our Irish luck ran out. "Nice" dances don't pay!
march 22--Mrs. Hoyt ordered Kenny not to sing "Ballerina" in typing class. It was slowly driving her crazy.
March 24--Vacation started. We beat Stamford in the benefit game.
March 25--9:00: We left for new York. 2:30: We ate our long awaited lunch. 5:00: We arrived in New York.
March 26--Girls discovered boys from other schools were in the hotel.
March 27--The boys all rented opera glasses for "Icetime." We saw "Harvey" at night.
March 28--"Harvey" accompanied us to Hobart.
March 29--We all slept!
April 5--Back to school again. Mr. Underwood, cadet teacher, joined us for 10 weeks.
April 9--FFA Father and Son Banquet.
April 12--Mr. Williams came to school without combing his hair.
April 16--Athletic Banquet.
April 26--No school. Teachers conference.
April 30--Junior Prom.
May 7--Spring concert and Operetta.
May 21-22--Music Festival and Contest at Delhi.
May 31--No school. Memorial Day came on Sunday.
June 21-24--Regents Week.
June 25--Senior Ball.
June 26--Alumni Banquet.
June 27--Baccalaureate.
June 28--Class Night.
June 29--Commencement. So Long!
