Band
There were 28 members out for the band when the first rehearsal was held in September. In November several members of the band went to Delhi for the annual Delaware County Festival, featuring a massed band, orchestra, and choir.
The band, let by capable baton twirlers, played at all home basketball games, forming letters and playing "snappy" marches along with our Alma Mater and the Alma Maters of the visiting schools.
The seventh annual concert was held on May 7th. Solos by some of the band members were given. The band also played a march composed by Mr. Cross. It was the first time his march had been heard by the public. May 21st and 22nd nine soloists went to Delhi for the All-State Competition event.
On Memorial Day the band participated in the parades at Hobart and Bloomville.

Baton Twirlers
Helen Marie, as head of our four baton twirlers, was the center of attraction at home basketball games, with her lighted baton and beautifully executed routines. Ably supporting her were Andrea Tyler, Lenise Alton and Leota Dibble. When Helen Marie twirled at the Walton Cheerleading Festival, comments were all favorable ranging from "excellent showmanship" to "I like her smile." We were justly proud of her and our other three twirlers. Ability to pick up a fallen baton and smiling resume the rhythm distinguished our four majorettes this year.
