FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA
Under the capable guidance of Mr. Palm, the South Kortright Dairy Boys have shred many honors throughout the past year. Howard Rich, as a delegate from New York State, attended the national FFA convention at Kansas City, Missouri. Howard was awarded the Empire Farmer degree and elected secretary-treasurer of the state FFA last year. He was also presented the 4-A awarded at a stateside Grange meeting this year.
Robert Whitney won the state chick rearing contest this year and was awarded three hundred certified chicks. George Robertson won the county FFA speaking contest and was elected county president for 1946-47.
As a group the chapter participated in a Father and Son Banquet, county and sectional meetings, a judging contest and a basketball tournament. The members were also tught savings through the cooperative purchase of 5,000 lbs. of seed potatoes and 3,000 baby chicks. The enrollment is 29 members in school and two out of school.
